Ryde, Isle of Wight – June 7, 2025 — Denbigh House Dental Practice in Ryde has earned national recognition after taking home three major honours at the 2025 Dentistry Awards, solidifying its place as a leader in UK dental care.
The family-run practice, headed by Ed and Holly Day, was awarded ‘Team of the Year – South East’, emerging ahead of over 50 competing practices across the region. Their success did not stop there — Denbigh House went on to win ‘Overall Team of the Year – UK’, a prestigious national title that marks a historic moment for dentistry on the Isle of Wight.
In addition, Ed Day received ‘Highly Commended’ in the Dental Technician of the Year category, recognising his outstanding technical skills and commitment to the profession.
Judges praised Denbigh House for its excellence in both clinical services and community impact. Key highlights of the practice’s work include:
- Exceptional customer service and patient care
- Collaboration with the Integrated Care Board (ICB) to address the NHS dental crisis on the Island
- Involvement in a pioneering rural dental care pilot programme
- Delivery of free dental health education in local schools
- Dedicated care for vulnerable groups, including children in care and individuals experiencing homelessness
- Ongoing charity involvement, with staff taking part in events like the London Marathon and the annual Santa Dash in Ryde
Denbigh House, along with its sister practice, Freshwater Dental Practice, currently operates as one of the only fully NHS-funded dental services on the Isle of Wight. Although both clinics are operating at full capacity, Ed and Holly Day are exploring ways to expand services and open their books to new NHS patients in the future.
Island residents also have access to the St James Clinic in Newport, another practice owned by the couple. It is the Isle of Wight’s most recommended and affordable private dental clinic — and it is currently accepting new patients.
This triple win at the Dentistry Awards highlights Denbigh House’s ongoing mission to improve dental care access and outcomes for communities across the Island.
