KELOWNA, B.C. — Dental care is now more accessible than ever, with the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) opening its doors to all eligible Canadians—regardless of age. Alpha Dental Centre in Kelowna is leading the charge in ensuring that patients approved for full coverage receive treatment without any out-of-pocket expenses.
The expanded CDCP now includes students, working adults, parents, and seniors who meet the program’s requirements. With full coverage, eligible patients can get essential dental care completely free at Alpha Dental Centre.
No Extra Charges for Covered Patients
A major concern for many Canadians using the CDCP has been the possibility of unexpected fees. The federal program reimburses dental clinics at a reduced rate, which can leave patients responsible for the difference between the CDCP fee guide and regular clinic prices.
Alpha Dental Centre has addressed this concern by committing to the CDCP fee guide without charging patients the difference. This means those with full CDCP approval will not face additional costs.
“There should be no surprises when it comes to affordability,” said Dr. Kal Dhaliwal, lead dentist at Alpha Dental Centre. “We’re committed to honoring the coverage patients receive and making dental care genuinely accessible to everyone.”
Who Qualifies for the CDCP?
As of June 1, eligibility has expanded to include Canadians of all ages. To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Canadian resident for tax purposes
- Have filed a 2024 tax return (including a spouse’s return, if applicable)
- Not have access to private dental insurance
- Have a family net income of less than $90,000
Applicants with lower income levels may receive full coverage under the plan. Alpha Dental Centre has pledged to ensure these fully covered patients will not pay out of pocket for their care.
What Services Are Covered?
Patients approved through the CDCP can receive a wide range of essential dental services at Alpha Dental Centre, including:
- Exams and preventive cleanings
- Fillings, root canals, and extractions
- Crowns, dentures, and other restorative treatments
- Emergency dental services
Alpha Dental Centre’s commitment to honoring the CDCP fee guide reflects its goal to support the Kelowna community by removing financial barriers to oral health.
