FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida SouthWestern State College’s Dental Clinic is offering low-cost dental cleanings, exams, and X-rays for children ages 3 to 18 throughout the month of June. The cost is $30 per child, with an additional $5 fee for dental sealants on permanent molars, if requested. Adults can also receive dental cleanings for $50.
The initiative gives families an affordable way to prepare for the upcoming school year with professional dental care.
“Kids need their teeth cleaned and should learn how to brush and floss properly,” said Karen Molumby, program director of the FSW Dental Hygiene Program. “Many children only receive dental care during the required school checkups in kindergarten, fifth, and eighth grade. Providing a low-cost option for preventive care helps reduce expenses while making sure children get important dental services and education.”
Services are performed by dental hygiene students from FSW, under the supervision of licensed faculty members.
The clinic is located in Building A on FSW’s Lee Campus at 8099 College Parkway in Fort Myers. It is open Tuesday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
