CHICAGO — Dr. Bina Katechia, an associate professor of pediatric dentistry, has been honored with the Dr. Lewis Kay Excellence in Education Award by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).
The award was presented at the AAPD’s annual meeting and celebrates individuals who show exceptional leadership, dedication to teaching pediatric dental residents, and efforts to improve children’s oral health. Recipients are also recognized for raising the profile of their dental programs and making meaningful contributions to both the community and the profession.
“Your leadership in the dental profession, your commitment to educating pediatric dental residents, and your contributions to society and dentistry are examples every educator should follow,” said Dr. Scott Smith, president of the AAPD, during the award announcement.
Dr. Katechia’s recognition highlights her ongoing impact in pediatric dental education and her role in shaping the next generation of oral health professionals.
