FORT MYERS, Fla. — Rasmussen Family Dental has announced the opening of a third location in Fort Myers, expanding its footprint in Southwest Florida. The practice acquired the office of longtime local dentist Dr. Matthew Allen, located at 1871 Colonial Blvd., Suite 101. Dr. Allen retired after more than six decades in dentistry and selected Dr. Nicole Rasmussen to carry on his legacy.
Founded in August 2016, Rasmussen Family Dental opened its first office in Cape Coral at 4113 Del Prado Blvd. A second location followed in 2019 at 17968 N Tamiami Trail, Suite 165, in North Fort Myers.
The new Fort Myers office is now accepting patients, with appointments available throughout the summer.
“The third location allows us to deliver the same small-town private practice experience in a more convenient location for patients who live or work in Fort Myers,” said Dr. Rasmussen. “Patients of Dr. Allen will also be welcomed by familiar staff members while benefiting from our team’s expanded skills and services.”
Joining Dr. Rasmussen at the new office is Dr. Rosmery Mendoza, who earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. She also holds a master’s degree in biomedical science from Nova Southeastern and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from the University of South Florida.
Dr. Nicole Rasmussen, a Cape Coral native and graduate of Mariner High School, received her bachelor’s degree in microbiology and molecular biology from the University of Central Florida. She later earned her dental degree from the University of Florida and completed advanced general dentistry training at NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine.
A respected member of the dental community, Dr. Rasmussen belongs to the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, Florida Dental Association, and the West Coast Dental Association, where she serves on the new member task force. She is also the immediate past president and current board member of the Lee County Dental Society. For the past three years, she has been nominated by her peers for Top Dentist honors.
Rasmussen Family Dental employs nearly 30 team members, including four dentists. The practice provides a wide range of dental services, from routine cleanings and teeth whitening to extractions, veneers, root canal therapy, and other cosmetic procedures. The office welcomes patients of all ages, starting at age two.
