A well-established NHS dental practice in Carnforth has been sold to first-time buyers with plans for growth and service expansion.
Founded in 1997 by Anne King, the practice began as a single-surgery facility within Carnforth Clinic. In 2004, King expanded by purchasing another practice on Market Street, later combining both into King Dental & Associates Limited in 2007. The practice has since grown to a five-surgery facility serving NHS patients.
After deciding to retire, Anne and her husband Derek decided to sell the practice. Following a confidential sales process led by Olivia McMaster at Christie & Co, the practice was acquired by Dr. Adam Kantharia and Dr. Ibrahim Matadar, brothers-in-law with extensive experience in both general and advanced dentistry.
Anne King shared her thoughts on the sale: “When we first met Adam and Ibrahim, we recognized their appreciation for the practice’s character and our approach to holistic oral healthcare. We are confident that they have great plans to introduce additional specialisms, and with the recent expansion of housing in the area, there are clear opportunities for growth.”
Dr. Kantharia, co-owner of King Dental & Associates, explained their vision: “Our goal is to create a modern, progressive dental practice that becomes a trusted name in the community—a place where patients not only receive excellent care but enjoy their visits. We plan to expand our services, focusing on cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, and dental implants. With Ibrahim’s expertise in implantology and our combined experience with Invisalign, we aim to provide comprehensive care in-house, eliminating the need for patient referrals. We also plan to incorporate the latest technology, including digital scanners and treatment planning tools, to enhance comfort and precision for our patients.”
Olivia McMaster, Senior Business Agent for Christie & Co, commented: “The successful sale of King Dental marks a significant milestone for Anne and Derek as they retire after a successful career. We saw tremendous interest in the practice, particularly from first-time buyers eager to begin their journey in dental practice ownership.”
