The University of Sharjah’s College of Dental Medicine has launched its Third International Dental Forum, focusing on “Innovation in Dentistry: Transforming Lives.” The event features speakers from six countries, including Canada and Britain. It is held under the patronage of Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University. The forum also includes a graduate research exhibition supported by the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR).
Prof. Qutayba Hamid, Vice Chancellor for Medical and Health Sciences Colleges and Dean of the College of Medicine, described the forum as a platform for collaboration. He expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for their continuous support. Prof. Hamid also praised the dedication of the faculty and announced plans to introduce master’s and doctoral programs in dental science.
Dr. Amina Al Marzouqi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, highlighted the crucial role of innovation in healthcare today. She said, “We are living in a time where innovation is reshaping the future of healthcare, and dentistry is no exception.” Dr. Al Marzouqi reaffirmed the University’s commitment to becoming a centre of excellence in education and research.
Prof. Sawsan Al Kawas, Acting Dean of the College of Dental Medicine, noted the forum’s growth as a global event attracting leading experts from around the world. She emphasized the importance of lifelong learning for dentists to keep pace with new developments. The conference gathers pioneers who share their vision of how technology is transforming oral healthcare.
Professor Ahmed Jumla, Chair of the Organising Committee, explained that the event aims to strengthen the University’s academic reputation. He said the theme reflects evolving changes in dental care and the shared responsibility to shape its future. Participants have the opportunity to engage with the latest research and listen to influential voices in dentistry.
The forum also includes a scientific competition for postgraduate students, supported by IADR. This event enhances academic rigor and allows students to engage deeply with advanced research.
Now in its third edition, the forum brings together international speakers, clinicians, academics, researchers, students, and dental professionals from across the globe.
