Pearl and vVARDIS Join Forces to Promote Non-Invasive Treatment for Early Tooth Decay

by Audrey

Pearl, a global leader in dental artificial intelligence, has partnered with vVARDIS, a pioneer in advanced dental care products, to raise awareness among dental professionals about new ways to detect and treat early-stage tooth decay.

This collaboration brings together two breakthrough technologies: Pearl’s AI-powered diagnostic tool, Second Opinion, and vVARDIS’ drill-free treatment solution, Curodont. Together, they aim to provide dentists with tools to identify decay in its earliest stages and treat it without invasive procedures.

Pearl’s Second Opinion software helps dentists identify signs of cavities and other conditions early by analyzing radiographs using AI. The tool also helps patients better understand their diagnosis, which can improve communication, build trust, and increase acceptance of treatment plans.

vVARDIS’ Curodont is a topical treatment applied directly to early cavities. It promotes natural enamel repair by aiding the formation of hydroxyapatite, the mineral that makes up tooth enamel. The treatment does not require drilling or injections and can be applied in the same visit in which decay is detected. This offers a quick, effective solution that helps preserve the natural structure of the tooth.

According to research, up to 80% of patients have tooth decay in its early stages (Skeie et al., 2022). With Curodont, dentists can address these cases promptly, potentially avoiding the need for more invasive and costly procedures later on.

“Hello Pearl is committed to improving dental diagnostics through AI that simplifies X-ray interpretation and helps patients understand their dental health,” said Ophir Tanz, founder and CEO of Pearl. “Our partnership with vVARDIS creates a complete solution that combines early detection with a proven method to reverse early decay—giving patients a better, more proactive path to oral health.”

Jeremy Thomas, president of vVARDIS North America, called the partnership a natural next step. “Together, we’re giving dental professionals the tools to find and treat decay earlier, using safe, non-invasive solutions that restore enamel health.”

vVARDIS co-founders Drs. Haley and Goly Abivardi emphasized the importance of this innovation. “For decades, dentists have waited for a drill-free solution that treats early cavities at the subclinical stage,” they said. “With Curodont, treatment can be delivered during a regular check-up. We believe it could become the new standard of care for early decay.”

They also highlighted the broader impact of untreated dental problems: an estimated 34 million school hours are lost each year in the U.S. due to emergency dental visits (Naavaal et al., 2018), and the country loses $45 billion annually in productivity because of oral diseases (Nasseh and Vujicic; CareQuest, 2024).

“With this new approach, dentists and hygienists can offer a wider range of care while improving outcomes and convenience for patients,” the co-founders added.
