FORT MYERS, Fla. — June 2025 — Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) is offering affordable dental care for children at its Fort Myers campus throughout the month of June. For just $30, children aged 3 to 18 can receive a full dental service package that includes a professional cleaning, a dental checkup, and X-rays.
Karen Molumby, director of FSW’s Dental Hygiene program, emphasized the importance of early oral health education. “Kids need to have their teeth cleaned and be provided with good oral health information, such as how to brush and floss properly,” Molumby told Lake Okeechobee News.
The services will be provided by dental hygiene students under faculty supervision at the FSW Dental Hygiene Clinic, located in Building A on the Lee Campus at 8099 College Parkway. In addition to the main package, back tooth sealants are available for an additional $5 per child.
The clinic also offers adult cleanings for $50. All appointments include one-on-one instruction on proper brushing and flossing techniques.
Appointments are available Tuesday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Families are encouraged to call 239-985-8334 to book a visit, as space may be limited.
The initiative aims to provide both practical training opportunities for students and accessible care for the local community.
