DUBAI, 24 December 2024 (WAM) – Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) has entered into a strategic partnership with the American Dental Association Forsyth Institute (AFI), a leading U.S.-based research institute dedicated to exploring the link between oral health and overall well-being.
The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to promote research, innovation, and educational opportunities in Dubai’s dental health sector. It will focus on collaborative research initiatives and technology development through MBRU’s Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine (HBMCDM).
The agreement was signed during a recent visit by an HBMCDM delegation to the United States. The visit included meetings with top academic institutions and discussions about expanding international collaborations in oral health education and research.
Under the MoU, Dubai Health and the AFI will work together on joint research projects and student exchange programmes.
These efforts aim to address key oral health challenges and improve patient care outcomes.
The collaboration will also include co-hosted events such as scientific symposia, conferences, and workshops. These initiatives are designed to promote professional development and knowledge sharing among dental health experts.
“This collaboration with the ADA Forsyth Institute is a major step in advancing dental education and research at MBRU,” said Professor Manal Al Halabi, Dean of HBMCDM. “It opens doors for our students and faculty to engage in impactful research and contribute to better oral health care.”
Dr. Wenyuan Shi, Chief Executive Officer of the Forsyth Institute, emphasized the broader impact of the partnership. “ADA Forsyth has created an ecosystem focused on oral health technology,” he said. “By partnering with MBRU, we’re expanding that ecosystem to Dubai Health and supporting innovation and collaboration in oral health research on a global scale.”
