‘Seal in a Smile’ Campaign Brings Dental Care to Peden Hill Elementary Students

by Audrey

Students at Peden Hill Elementary School have a new reason to smile this week, thanks to the return of the Seal in a Smile campaign.

The program is a joint effort by the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, Northern Health, School District 57, and the College of New Caledonia (CNC). It aims to deliver basic dental care to children who may not otherwise have access to it.

The initiative also provides a hands-on learning experience for CNC dental assistant students. Under the guidance of instructors, they offer early dental care directly to elementary students, helping to prevent long-term oral health problems.

“This partnership helps close the gap in children’s dental care, and we’re proud to be part of it,” said Aimee Cassie, CEO of Spirit of the North. “Seal in a Smile gives kids a positive first experience with dental professionals and helps CNC students build their skills while giving back to the community.”

The campaign officially kicks off Wednesday at the College of New Caledonia.
