NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — A large-scale free dental clinic is coming to New Britain this summer to help individuals who can’t afford dental care. The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach (CFDO) will host its 18th annual Connecticut Mission of Mercy (CTMOM) Free Dental Clinic on Friday, June 20, and Saturday, June 21.
The two-day event will be held at New Britain High School, located at 110 Mill St. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Organizers expect to treat around 1,100 people during the clinic.
“CTMOM is dedicated to improving lives through vital dental care,” said Dr. Laurence Levy, chair of the Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach. “New Britain is an ideal place to reach many who need our help.”
The clinic will be staffed by roughly 800 volunteers and feature 80 dental stations. Services offered will include dental exams, X-rays, cleanings, fillings, extractions, limited root canals on front teeth and premolars, as well as temporary partial dentures and repairs.
In addition to providing care, CTMOM is calling for volunteers to support the clinic. Both medical professionals and community members are encouraged to help.
Mayor Erin Stewart expressed gratitude to the foundation, noting the event’s importance for the city.
“Access to healthcare is essential for quality of life,” said Stewart. “We’re thankful the CT Mission of Mercy is coming to New Britain to offer crucial services to those who might not otherwise receive them.”
Lisa Perry-Swain, executive director of CFDO, said the clinic is about more than just dental care — it’s about equity and community.
“Oral health is closely linked to overall well-being,” she said. “Thanks to our generous volunteers and partners, we’re able to offer life-changing care to those who need it most. No one should go without the dental treatment they deserve.”
